The guest this week will be Edgar Allan Poe, famed American poet and writer.
The show will primarily revolve around his popularization – some would even say invention – of the detective-fiction genre, leading to a whole generation of detective fiction. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is quoted as saying of Poe’s works, “Each is a root from which a whole literature has developed.... Where was the detective story until Poe breathed the breath of life into it?"
